Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at Hilton Coventry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food, exceptional guest experiences, and efficient culinary execution. This role requires a creative culinary professional with a strong understanding of diverse cuisines, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to food safety and hygiene. You will be instrumental in developing menus, managing inventory, and fostering a positive and productive kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and cooking.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and taste across all dishes.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and stock rotation to minimize waste and control costs.
- Develop and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with local regulations and company policies.
- Manage kitchen budgets, labor costs, and food expenditures effectively.
- Innovate and introduce new dishes, taking into account seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a reputable restaurant or hotel environment.
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and ingredients.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management, cost control, and budgeting.
- Up-to-date knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
