Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Government Food Assistance Processor to join our Edmonton team. In this office-based role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of applications for food assistance programs. This involves reviewing documents, inputting data, maintaining confidential records, and communicating with applicants and other government agencies to facilitate the timely delivery of critical support. Your work will directly impact the lives of vulnerable Albertans, providing essential aid and upholding the integrity of our social programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process food assistance applications accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Review application forms and supporting documentation for completeness and eligibility criteria.
  • Perform data entry into government systems with a high degree of precision and attention to detail.
  • Maintain organized and confidential records of all applicant information and program activities.
  • Communicate effectively with applicants to clarify information, request additional documents, and provide status updates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to resolve issues and streamline processing workflows.
  • Respond to inquiries from the public regarding food assistance programs, providing clear and helpful information.
  • Generate reports on application volumes, processing times, and program outcomes as required.
  • Identify and escalate complex cases or potential fraudulent activity to supervisors.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with program changes and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document review.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in using office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database systems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications
