Job Description
Are you passionate about video games and have a keen eye for detail? Epic Games is seeking a dedicated Game Tester to join our Quality Assurance team in Durham, NC. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the highest quality of our titles by identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs and issues. You will work closely with development teams to provide critical feedback, perform thorough testing across various platforms, and contribute directly to the polish and playability of our next big hit. Key Responsibilities
- Execute detailed test plans and test cases to identify defects, glitches, and inconsistencies in game titles.
- Document and report bugs accurately and clearly using an internal bug tracking system, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
- Perform regression testing to verify bug fixes and ensure no new issues have been introduced.
- Provide constructive feedback on game design, usability, and overall player experience.
- Collaborate effectively with developers, designers, and other QA team members to maintain high product quality.
- Stay up-to-date with current gaming trends, platforms, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong passion for video games and familiarity with various genres and platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a QA or game testing role.
- Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
- Experience with game development cycles and methodologies.
- Understanding of different testing methodologies (e.g., black-box, white-box, smoke testing).
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Game Design).
