Job Description
Are you a gamer with lightning-fast reflexes and an eagle eye for detail? Do you thrive in high-octane, fast-paced game environments? Activision Blizzard is looking for a dedicated Game Tester to join our team in Palmdale, California. In this ‘Subito’ (immediate start) role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and playability of our next-generation titles, specifically focusing on games with rapid gameplay, intense action, and demanding technical performance. You’ll be part of a dynamic team, providing crucial feedback that directly impacts the player experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rigorous functional, performance, and regression testing on game titles with an emphasis on high-speed environments.
- Identify, analyze, and accurately report software defects, glitches, and usability issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Execute test plans and test cases efficiently, providing detailed steps to reproduce bugs.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, designers, and fellow QA testers to understand game mechanics and feature requirements.
- Provide constructive feedback on gameplay, balance, and overall player experience for fast-paced titles.
- Adapt quickly to new game builds, features, and testing tools.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings, contributing to a collaborative testing environment.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure the resolution of reported issues.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Proven passion for video games, especially high-speed action, racing, or competitive genres.
- Ability to quickly learn and master complex game mechanics and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for bug reporting and team collaboration.
- Proficiency with various gaming platforms (PC, console) and control schemes.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to testing.
- Basic familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in Quality Assurance or game testing (professional or amateur).
- Understanding of game development pipelines and software development lifecycles.
- Experience with competitive online gaming or esports.
- Knowledge of performance testing methodologies in gaming.
- Degree or coursework in Game Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
