Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our team as a Warehouse Freight Handler for early morning shifts in New Port Richey, FL. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and sorting of freight within our distribution center. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload freight by hand or by using material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Sort and stage freight according to destination and product type, ensuring proper placement.
- Verify freight counts against shipping documents and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Operate scanning equipment to track inventory and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support overall operations.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality for early morning shifts.
- Ability to read and understand shipping labels and instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or freight handling role.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or scanning technology.
- High school diploma or GED.
