Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Frontend Shopify Designer with a strong focus on UX/UI to join our dynamic remote team. This role involves designing and implementing visually appealing, user-friendly, and high-converting Shopify themes and custom storefronts. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the user experience and visual design of e-commerce websites, ensuring they are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional and performant. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize responsive Shopify themes from concept to launch.
- Implement custom features and functionalities using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid.
- Conduct UX research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve user flows.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for Shopify stores.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and marketing teams to ensure design consistency and brand alignment.
- Ensure all designs are optimized for performance, SEO, and accessibility across various devices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify features, industry trends, and best practices in UX/UI design.
- Provide expert advice on Shopify best practices and design solutions to clients or internal stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Shopify theme development (Liquid, HTML5, CSS3/Sass, JavaScript/jQuery).
- Strong portfolio showcasing successful Shopify e-commerce designs and implementations.
- Demonstrable expertise in UX/UI principles, user-centered design methodologies, and responsive design.
- Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Solid understanding of cross-browser compatibility, web performance optimization, and accessibility standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Experience with Shopify Plus features and advanced customization.
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue) is a plus.
- Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
- Knowledge of SEO best practices for e-commerce.
