Job Description
As a Salon Equipment Fitter, you will be crucial to delivering exceptional service and support to our salon partners across Guelph and surrounding regions. This manual, hands-on role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of various salon equipment, including chairs, wash units, styling stations, and more. You will travel to client locations, ensuring all equipment is fitted safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards, directly contributing to the professional appearance and functionality of our clients’ salons.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform professional installation and assembly of salon equipment at client sites.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of existing salon fixtures.
- Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions promptly and effectively.
- Ensure all installations comply with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Provide clear and courteous communication with salon owners and staff during site visits.
- Manage and maintain company tools and vehicle inventory.
- Complete necessary paperwork and reports for installations and service calls.
- Adhere to a flexible schedule, including travel to various client locations.
Required Skills
- Proven mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Canadian Class G driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Basic computer literacy for completing service reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in furniture assembly, plumbing, electrical work, or general trades.
- Familiarity with specific salon equipment brands or types.
- Customer service experience in a field service role.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant technical field.
