Job Description

GoodLife Fitness in Dartmouth, NS is seeking a dynamic Fitness Class Marshall to elevate our group fitness experience. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless class operations, expertly managing sound and AV equipment, and maintaining an energetic environment that motivates our members. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate all audio-visual equipment (microphones, sound system, projection) for group fitness classes.
- Monitor sound levels and adjust as needed to ensure optimal audio quality and member comfort.
- Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently during classes to minimize disruptions.
- Assist instructors with class setup, member check-in, and efficient equipment distribution.
- Maintain a high-energy, positive, and motivating presence on the fitness floor.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all class participants through active supervision.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing member inquiries and concerns with a helpful attitude.
- Manage class flow, including punctual start and end times, to ensure smooth transitions between sessions.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or facility issues promptly to the appropriate team members.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability to operate and troubleshoot basic audio and video equipment.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- High energy level and a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to work effectively and remain composed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Basic understanding of group fitness class structures and flow.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on member satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a fitness club, event management, or similar client-facing role.
- Knowledge of various group fitness formats (e.g., Zumba, Spin, Yoga, HIIT).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- A genuine passion for health and wellness and inspiring others.
