Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Festival Stewards to join our team for the upcoming Vancouver Folk Music Festival. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for summer work in a dynamic, outdoor setting, contributing to one of Vancouver’s most cherished cultural events. As a Festival Steward, you will be the friendly face of the festival, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and smooth experience for all festival-goers. This role is ideal for those who love music, community, and working outdoors.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting and directing festival attendees with a positive and helpful attitude.
- Assisting with crowd flow and managing entry/exit points to various stages and zones.
- Providing information about festival schedules, amenities, and policies.
- Monitoring designated areas for safety and security, reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Helping to maintain a clean and tidy festival environment.
- Responding to attendee inquiries and providing basic assistance.
- Collaborating with other staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- A positive attitude and a passion for community events and music.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in event management, customer service, or volunteer coordination.
- Knowledge of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival or similar large-scale events.
- First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to speak multiple languages is an asset.
