Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations over regional routes, adhering to all traffic laws and company regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, ensuring all components are in good working order.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including logs, manifests, and expense reports.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
  • Load and unload freight as required, ensuring proper securing and handling of goods.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding route status and any issues.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, actively participating in a safety-first culture.
  • Represent FedEx professionally to customers and the public.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
  • Clean driving record with no major violations
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull freight up to 75 lbs as required
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Hazmat endorsement
  • Tanker endorsement
  • Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
  • Familiarity with regional routes in Florida and surrounding states
