Job Description
Join FedEx as a Tractor-Trailer Operator for our regional routes and become a vital part of our robust logistics network. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations over regional routes, adhering to all traffic laws and company regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, ensuring all components are in good working order.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including logs, manifests, and expense reports.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
- Load and unload freight as required, ensuring proper securing and handling of goods.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding route status and any issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, actively participating in a safety-first culture.
- Represent FedEx professionally to customers and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Ability to lift, push, and pull freight up to 75 lbs as required
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Hazmat endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Familiarity with regional routes in Florida and surrounding states
