Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and safety-conscious Tanker Drivers with a Hazmat endorsement to join our FedEx Freight team in Boise, Idaho. This crucial role involves the safe transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials across designated routes, adhering to all federal, state, and company regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Operate tanker trucks safely and efficiently, transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects.
- Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of tanker contents according to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate logs, including hours of service, mileage, and delivery records, utilizing electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and hazmat procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Safely operate in varying weather and traffic conditions.
- Represent FedEx Freight professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)
- Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Minimum of 3 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety procedures
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a tanker driver, particularly with diverse material types.
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Proven track record of maintaining high safety standards.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
