Job Description
Join FedEx Freight as a City Driver and become a vital part of our local operations in Pasco, WA. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient pick-up and delivery of freight, ensuring timely service for our valued customers. This is a full-time position that offers the comfort of being home every night, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. We are looking for professional, safety-conscious individuals with a Class A CDL to contribute to our success.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer to pick up and deliver freight within the Pasco metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Handle freight with appropriate equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, and ensure proper loading and securing.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, including manifests, bills of lading, and daily logs.
- Provide exceptional customer service during pickups and deliveries, representing FedEx Freight professionally.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Hazmat, Tanker, and Doubles/Triples endorsements (or ability to obtain them within 90 days of employment)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 75 pounds frequently, and up to 150 pounds occasionally with assistance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous LTL freight driving experience
- Experience operating various types of forklifts and other material handling equipment
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
