Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our team as Drydock / Shipyard Laborers. This is a demanding role requiring strong physical endurance and a commitment to safety within a heavy industrial environment. You will be an integral part of our operations, supporting various trades and ensuring the smooth running of drydock and shipyard projects. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general manual labor duties on vessels and within the shipyard, including heavy lifting and material handling.
- Assist skilled tradespersons (welders, pipefitters, electricians, painters) with their tasks.
- Clean and prepare work areas, vessels, and equipment, including removal of debris, rust, and old coatings.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety protocols, regulations, and company procedures meticulously.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, staging, and temporary structures.
- Load and unload materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Work in various environments, including confined spaces, heights, and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Basic understanding of industrial safety procedures.
- Comfortable working in a noisy and dusty environment.
- Team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a heavy industrial, construction, or maritime environment.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
- Certification for confined space entry or working at heights (advantageous but not required).
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
