Job Description
As a Demography & Population Studies Intern at Deloitte Canada, you will contribute to critical research and analytical projects focused on demographic trends, population dynamics, and their societal impacts. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing large demographic datasets from various sources.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of population trends, migration patterns, birth rates, mortality rates, and age structures.
- Support the development of demographic projections and forecasts.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and data visualizations to communicate research findings effectively.
- Contribute to literature reviews and background research on relevant demographic theories and methodologies.
- Collaborate with project teams on client engagements, providing demographic insights.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of all data and analyses.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Demography, Sociology, Geography, Public Policy, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel, R, Python, SPSS, Stata).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Experience with statistical modeling or econometric techniques.
- Prior experience with demographic data sources (e.g., Census data, vital statistics).
- Demonstrated interest in public policy, urban development, or social research.
