Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Investment Banker / Associate to join our dynamic Investment Banking division in Yokohama, Japan. This is a unique opportunity for talented professionals looking to make a significant impact in the global financial markets. The role involves working on a variety of transactions including M&A, equity capital markets (ECM), and debt capital markets (DCM), across diverse industries. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, valuation modeling (DCF, precedent transactions, comparable company analysis), and financial statement analysis.
  • Prepare client presentations, pitch books, and other marketing materials for M&A, equity, and debt transactions.
  • Support senior bankers in all aspects of deal execution, including due diligence, transaction structuring, and negotiation.
  • Perform industry research and market analysis to identify potential opportunities and trends.
  • Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate strategic alternatives and transaction impacts.
  • Assist in managing client relationships and fostering new business development.
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts, ensuring high-quality work and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon).
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • CFA designation or progress towards it.
  • Prior experience in M&A or capital markets transactions.
  • Fluency in Japanese (both written and spoken) is a significant advantage, but not strictly required with strong English proficiency.
  • Experience working with international clients or cross-border transactions.
