Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Investment Banker / Associate to join our dynamic Investment Banking division in Yokohama, Japan. This is a unique opportunity for talented professionals looking to make a significant impact in the global financial markets. The role involves working on a variety of transactions including M&A, equity capital markets (ECM), and debt capital markets (DCM), across diverse industries. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, valuation modeling (DCF, precedent transactions, comparable company analysis), and financial statement analysis.
- Prepare client presentations, pitch books, and other marketing materials for M&A, equity, and debt transactions.
- Support senior bankers in all aspects of deal execution, including due diligence, transaction structuring, and negotiation.
- Perform industry research and market analysis to identify potential opportunities and trends.
- Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate strategic alternatives and transaction impacts.
- Assist in managing client relationships and fostering new business development.
- Mentor and guide junior analysts, ensuring high-quality work and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon).
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- CFA designation or progress towards it.
- Prior experience in M&A or capital markets transactions.
- Fluency in Japanese (both written and spoken) is a significant advantage, but not strictly required with strong English proficiency.
- Experience working with international clients or cross-border transactions.
