Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Commercial Awning Installer (Mate) to join our growing team in Cheltenham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in the construction and outdoor living industry. As an Installer Mate, you will work alongside our experienced lead installers, providing essential support in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial awnings and shade systems. You will learn valuable skills on the job and contribute directly to transforming commercial spaces across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead installers with the safe and efficient installation of commercial awnings, canopies, and shade structures.
  • Prepare work sites by setting up tools, equipment, and necessary safety measures.
  • Handle and transport materials, ensuring they are ready for installation.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Perform general labour tasks as required, including lifting, carrying, and securing components.
  • Help with the clean-up of job sites after installation.
  • Learn and adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients on site.

  • Good physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a construction or manual labour role (6+ months).
  • Valid UK Driving License.
  • CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • Experience working at heights (e.g., using ladders or scaffolding).
  • Basic understanding of measurements and practical problem-solving.
