Job Description
We are seeking experienced and reliable CDL-A Dry Van Drivers for dedicated drop and hook operations based out of our Durham, NC facility. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A Commercial Motor Vehicle for dry van freight transportation.
- Execute efficient drop and hook operations at designated customer locations and terminals.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractor and trailer, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local driving regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, logistics teams, and customers regarding load status and any issues.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules while prioritizing safety.
- Keep equipment clean and well-maintained.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and PSP report.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Experience with ELD (Electronic Logging Device) systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with drop and hook operations.
- Experience hauling dry van freight.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the Southeastern US region.
- HAZMAT endorsement (not required for all routes, but a plus).
