Job Description
Antelope Valley Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Bilingual Receptionist (Spanish/English) to join our dynamic team. This is a high-demand role critical to ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for all patients and visitors. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact, providing exceptional service, managing inquiries, and supporting administrative functions in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Your ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish will be essential in serving our diverse patient population and ensuring clear, compassionate communication at all times. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls in both English and Spanish, providing information or directing callers to the appropriate department.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, managing the appointment calendar efficiently.
- Register new patients and update existing patient information accurately in the system.
- Process patient intake forms and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
- Handle general inquiries and provide accurate information about services, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain a tidy and organized reception area.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support clinic operations.
Required Skills
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (oral and written communication).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1-2 years) as a receptionist, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Associate's degree or relevant certification.
