Job Description
We are seeking a highly trustworthy and reliable Babysitter for casual night work in Tunbridge Wells. This role is ideal for individuals looking for flexible hours to provide childcare for various families, primarily during evening and weekend hours. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children, following established routines, and engaging them in age-appropriate activities. Our families value punctuality, a calm demeanor, and a genuine love for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise children safely in the absence of parents/guardians, primarily during evening hours.
- Adhere to established bedtime routines, including reading stories and preparing children for sleep.
- Prepare simple snacks or light meals as instructed.
- Engage children in age-appropriate and stimulating activities.
- Maintain a clean and tidy play area and common spaces used during your shift.
- Communicate effectively and promptly with parents/guardians regarding children's activities and any concerns.
- Handle basic first aid situations and emergency procedures if necessary.
- Ensure children's needs are met with kindness and patience.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in childcare or babysitting (minimum 12 months).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated trustworthiness, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and household routines accurately.
- Basic understanding of child safety and first aid principles.
- A genuine love for children and patience to work with various age groups.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant childcare qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, CACHE Certificate).
- Valid Paediatric First Aid certificate.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Previous experience working with multiple children.
- Driving license and access to own transportation (beneficial but not essential).
