Job Description

We are actively seeking diligent and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Freight Taggers. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately identifying, scanning, and tagging freight shipments, ensuring they are routed correctly and moved efficiently through our distribution center in Austin, TX. This is an entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in logistics with a global leader. You will work in a fast-paced, on-site environment, contributing directly to the smooth flow of goods and the timely delivery of packages. Training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately identify and verify freight details according to manifest or shipping labels.
  • Scan freight using handheld devices to record movement and status updates.
  • Apply appropriate tags, labels, or stickers to freight for proper routing.
  • Inspect freight for damage and report any discrepancies or issues.
  • Sort and stage freight in designated areas for loading or further processing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer and scanning device operation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physical environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry freight up to 50 lbs regularly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar operational environment.
  • Experience with freight scanning or inventory systems.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Forklift operation certification (though not required for this specific role, it's a plus for future growth).
