Job Description
Are you a motivated and energetic 15-year-old looking for your first job in a fast-paced and rewarding environment? Outback Steakhouse in New Port Richey is seeking dedicated Teen Bussers to join our team! This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop strong teamwork skills, and earn daily tips in a high-turnover restaurant. As a Busser, you will be crucial in ensuring our dining room is always ready for our guests, supporting our servers, and contributing to a seamless dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Promptly clear and clean tables after guests depart, ensuring they are ready for the next diners.
- Reset tables with clean silverware, napkins, and condiments according to Outback standards.
- Assist servers by refilling drinks, delivering bread, and running food when needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining room, restrooms, and server stations.
- Replenish ice, dishware, and other supplies as needed throughout shifts.
- Handle used dishware and glassware, transporting them to the dishwashing area.
- Support a positive and efficient team environment by anticipating needs and offering help.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
Required Skills
- Must be 15 years of age or older (proof of age and work permit, if required by state law, will be necessary).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays (up to 25 lbs) for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness and organization.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in any customer service or team-oriented role (e.g., school projects, volunteer work) is a plus.
- Basic communication skills to interact politely with guests and team members.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the restaurant industry.
