Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented X-Ray / Radiology File Clerk to join our dynamic hospital administration team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start their career in healthcare administration. You will be responsible for the efficient management, retrieval, and archiving of patient X-Ray and radiology files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. This role is crucial in supporting our radiology department and overall patient care, requiring a strong commitment to precision and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain physical and digital X-Ray and radiology patient files with the highest degree of accuracy.
- Organize, sort, and file new reports and images into appropriate patient records.
- Retrieve requested files promptly for radiologists, physicians, and other authorized personnel.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all patient information in accordance with hospital policies and privacy regulations.
- Assist with the scanning and digitalization of historical X-Ray films and reports.
- Perform regular audits of file systems to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Provide administrative support to the radiology department as needed, including answering phones and scheduling appointments.
- Collaborate with other administrative staff and healthcare professionals to ensure smooth departmental operations.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite, data entry).
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to lift and move file boxes (up to 20 lbs) occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an office or administrative setting (even non-healthcare related).
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Knowledge of file management systems.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a strong asset in Quebec.
