Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Online Inventory Analyst to join our remote e-commerce support team. This critical role involves monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing inventory levels for our online product catalog to ensure product availability, minimize stockouts, and support sales targets. The ideal candidate will be adept at using data to identify trends, forecast demand, and collaborate with various departments to maintain efficient inventory flow within our fast-paced e-commerce environment. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a leading retail brand from anywhere within the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor online inventory levels daily, identifying discrepancies, potential stockouts, and overstock situations.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to forecast demand and optimize inventory allocation for e-commerce.
- Collaborate with merchandising, supply chain, and logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment and efficient stock movement.
- Generate regular reports on inventory performance, including turnover rates, out-of-stock percentages, and excess inventory.
- Proactively identify and resolve inventory-related issues impacting online order fulfillment and customer experience.
- Assist in developing and implementing inventory management strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Utilize inventory management software and e-commerce platforms to manage and update product data accurately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for inventory processes and tools.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or a related analytical role, preferably within e-commerce.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, advanced formulas) for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems (IMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
- Knowledge of retail inventory best practices and forecasting techniques.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
