Job Description

Join Rumpke Waste & Recycling as an E-Waste Dismantler / Recycler at our state-of-the-art indoor facility in Cincinnati, OH. In this hands-on role, you will be crucial in the safe and efficient processing of electronic waste, contributing directly to environmental sustainability. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, a commitment to safety protocols, and a willingness to work as part of a dedicated team. You will be responsible for disassembling various electronic devices, sorting components for recycling, and ensuring hazardous materials are handled appropriately. This is a full-time position offering stable work and the opportunity to make a tangible impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manually dismantle electronic waste (e-waste) such as computers, televisions, printers, and other devices using hand and power tools.
  • Identify and sort various components, including plastics, metals, circuit boards, batteries, and hazardous materials, for appropriate recycling or disposal.
  • Operate basic machinery and equipment safely as required for processing e-waste.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Follow specific instructions for material segregation and data destruction protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing training and safety meetings.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality control issues to supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Physical stamina to stand, lift (up to 50 lbs), bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a shift.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented indoor facility environment.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or recycling environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic components or basic electronics knowledge.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
