Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and service-oriented individuals to join our team as a Baggage Porter at our airport logistics hub in Gilbert, Arizona. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of baggage and freight, providing excellent customer service to our clients. This is a fast-paced environment that requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. This position offers the potential for high tips based on outstanding service and customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load, unload, and sort baggage and cargo onto/from aircraft, carts, and conveyances.
- Operate various airport ground support equipment (e.g., tugs, belt loaders, pushback tractors) after appropriate training and certification.
- Transport baggage and cargo to designated areas within the airport premises.
- Assist passengers with their luggage, offering polite and helpful service.
- Ensure accurate handling and tracking of all items.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members, flight crews, and ground staff.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 70 lbs) frequently.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record (required for operating airport equipment).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a logistics, airport, or customer service role.
- Familiarity with airport operations and safety procedures.
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
