Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Shopify QA Tester to join our dynamic e-commerce team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the flawless functionality and user experience of our Shopify-powered online store. You will be responsible for conducting thorough manual testing of new features, bug fixes, and existing functionalities, playing a critical part in delivering high-quality, seamless shopping experiences to our global community.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive manual test cases for new features, bug fixes, and existing functionalities on our Shopify e-commerce platform.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using appropriate bug tracking tools.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and designers to understand requirements and ensure thorough test coverage.
- Create, maintain, and update detailed test plans and test cases based on project specifications.
- Perform regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionalities.
- Conduct cross-browser and device compatibility testing to guarantee a consistent user experience.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
- Provide clear and concise status updates on testing progress and defect reports.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with manual quality assurance testing for web applications, particularly e-commerce platforms.
- Solid understanding of the Shopify platform and its core functionalities (themes, apps, checkout process).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify subtle discrepancies.
- Familiarity with various testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Familiarity with retail or consumer goods industry practices.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end debugging.
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks or tools is a plus (even if not an automation role).
