Job Description
The Columbus Museum of Art is seeking a dedicated and observant Museum Gallery Auditor to join our team. In this unique role, you will be responsible for discreetly monitoring gallery spaces to ensure the preservation of art, adherence to museum policies, and the overall quality of the visitor experience. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a respectful demeanor, and a deep appreciation for art and cultural environments. The ideal candidate will thrive in a quiet, focused setting, contributing to the seamless operation and security of our esteemed collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular, discreet patrols of assigned gallery spaces.
- Observe visitor behavior to ensure compliance with museum guidelines and respect for exhibits.
- Identify and report any maintenance issues, security concerns, or potential risks to artwork.
- Monitor environmental conditions (lighting, temperature) as required, reporting anomalies.
- Assist visitors with general inquiries while maintaining a professional and non-intrusive presence.
- Document observations and incidents thoroughly and accurately.
- Contribute to maintaining a calm, respectful, and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere within the galleries.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
