Job Description
We are seeking a highly professional and communication-focused Guest Liaison Porter to join our dedicated team at Harbour Hotel Guildford. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring an impeccable first and last impression for all our guests, managing luggage, assisting with transfers, and providing outstanding concierge support. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to delivering a seamless and luxurious experience for every visitor. Your ability to communicate clearly, courteously, and effectively will be paramount in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival and departure, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Professionally handle guest luggage, including collection, delivery, and storage, with utmost care and efficiency.
- Assist guests with transportation arrangements, including taxis, car services, and local directions.
- Provide comprehensive information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions with clarity and enthusiasm.
- Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer assistance, ensuring all requests are met promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a pristine and organized hotel entrance, lobby, and luggage storage areas.
- Collaborate effectively with front desk, concierge, and other hotel departments to ensure cohesive service delivery.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests with discretion, empathy, and a solution-oriented approach.
- Operate hotel vehicles, if required and appropriately licensed, for guest transfers.
- Adhere strictly to all hotel policies, safety standards, and security procedures.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service in a luxury environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to lift and transport luggage and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to guest needs.
- Valid UK driving license (desirable, but not essential).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or customer service role.
- Familiarity with Guildford and surrounding areas.
- Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
