Job Description
Join the vibrant team at the Curran Theatre as a part-time Theater Usher! We are looking for enthusiastic and service-oriented individuals to enhance the guest experience during evening and matinee performances. As an Usher, you will be the face of the Curran Theatre, guiding patrons, ensuring their comfort and safety, and contributing to the magic of live theater. This role is perfect for those who have a passion for the arts, excellent interpersonal skills, and are available for a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome all patrons upon arrival, providing a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
- Efficiently scan and verify tickets, guiding patrons to their assigned seats.
- Actively assist patrons with special needs or accessibility requirements, ensuring a comfortable and inclusive experience.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the theater layout, facilities, and current show information to answer patron inquiries.
- Enforce theater policies and procedures to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests.
- Proactively address and resolve minor patron concerns or escalate issues to management as needed.
- Assist with the distribution of programs and other promotional materials.
- Ensure aisles and exits remain clear and unobstructed at all times.
- Collaborate with other theater staff to maintain a clean and orderly environment before, during, and after performances.
- Be prepared to assist in emergency evacuations and other safety procedures.
Required Skills
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions accurately.
- Professional and courteous demeanor with a positive attitude.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 20 lbs for extended periods.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the performance schedule.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a live entertainment venue.
- Basic knowledge of theater operations and etiquette.
- Experience with ticket scanning systems.
- First Aid or CPR certification.
