Job Description
Are you a highly motivated individual with a passion for science and a desire to kickstart your career in a dynamic laboratory setting? LabCorp is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry Level Lab Technician to join our fast-paced Charlotte team immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art diagnostic laboratory. You will be instrumental in supporting our testing operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in every task.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory procedures, including sample preparation, media preparation, and reagent handling, following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assist senior technicians and scientists with various experiments and analyses.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Accurately record and document all experimental data, observations, and results.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment in compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies and reagents, and assist with ordering as needed.
- Prepare samples for testing and analysis, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
- Adhere to strict quality control standards and participate in quality assurance activities.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet daily testing quotas and deadlines.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology)
- Previous experience in a laboratory setting (academic or professional) is a plus, but not required
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and good laboratory practices (GLP)
- Experience with basic laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, pipettes)
