Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Chemist (QC) to join our high-volume production facility in Pasco, Washington. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our chemical products through rigorous analytical testing, meticulous documentation, and adherence to stringent quality control standards. Your expertise will directly impact the safety, efficacy, and reputation of our manufactured goods, contributing significantly to our operational excellence. This is an on-site position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical and physical analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using various analytical techniques and instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, titrations).
  • Interpret and analyze test results, identify deviations from specifications, and report findings to production and quality management.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to calibration schedules.
  • Develop, validate, and implement new analytical methods as required.
  • Prepare and standardize reagents and solutions.
  • Complete accurate and thorough documentation of all analytical tests, results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and LIMS.
  • Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and participate in root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot quality-related issues and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and internal quality procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QC laboratory.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality control or analytical laboratory setting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis preferred).
  • Excellent data analysis, interpretation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and quality documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of GMP and GLP principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Experience in a high-volume chemical manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
  • Experience with method development and validation.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
