Job Description
We are seeking experienced CDL-A Dry Van Drivers for dedicated ‘drop and hook’ routes based out of Pomona, CA. This is an exciting opportunity for professional drivers looking for consistent work with predictable schedules and no forced dispatch, allowing for a better work-life balance. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods across designated routes, primarily utilizing pre-loaded trailers, minimizing wait times and maximizing driving efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle (CMV) to transport dry van freight.
- Perform 'drop and hook' operations, picking up and dropping off pre-loaded or empty trailers.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor and trailer, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and complete all required paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations personnel regarding route status and any issues.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules and commitments.
- Represent XPO Logistics professionally to clients and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable CDL-A driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major incidents in the last 3 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Proficiency in operating electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with dry van 'drop and hook' operations
- Experience with dedicated routes or regional trucking
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement (not required, but a plus)
- Tanker endorsement (not required, but a plus)
