Job Description
We are seeking a friendly, efficient, and reliable Corporate Cafeteria Cashier to join our team at a bustling corporate dining facility in Staten Island. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking for a consistent schedule, working Monday through Friday with no night shifts. As a Cashier, you will be the face of our cafeteria, responsible for handling transactions, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently to process customer transactions.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments, ensuring proper change and accurate billing.
- Greet all customers with a warm and friendly demeanor, providing excellent service.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized cashier station and surrounding service areas.
- Assist customers with questions regarding menu items, pricing, and daily specials.
- Reconcile cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and customer service.
- Assist with light stocking of grab-and-go items or beverages as needed.
- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
Required Skills
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role, preferably in food service.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
