Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and highly organised Hospital Concierge Porter to join our dedicated team, focusing on VIP Guest Management. In this crucial role, you will be the first point of contact for our VIP patients and their families, ensuring a seamless, comfortable, and dignified experience from arrival to departure. You will combine the vital duties of a porter with the refined skills of a concierge, providing essential support, guidance, and assistance. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and a deep commitment to patient care and service excellence within a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome and assist VIP patients, their families, and special guests upon arrival, ensuring a smooth admission process.
- Provide clear directions and escort patients and visitors to various departments, clinics, and wards within the hospital.
- Assist patients with mobility, including transporting them via wheelchairs or stretchers, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Manage the movement of essential hospital equipment, medical supplies, and specimens between departments efficiently and securely.
- Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanour, offering support and reassurance to patients and their families.
- Handle inquiries and provide accurate information regarding hospital services, appointments, and general hospital operations.
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to anticipate and meet the specific needs of VIP guests.
- Ensure waiting areas and reception points are tidy and welcoming.
- Identify and address any potential issues or concerns promptly, escalating as necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in a customer service or hospitality-focused role
- Strong empathy, compassion, and a patient-centred approach
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding and emotionally charged environment
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients/equipment safely
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication
- High level of professionalism and discretion
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital setting
- Experience as a porter or concierge in a hotel or similar environment
- First Aid certification
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Additional language proficiency
