This is an excellent opportunity for someone with little to no prior experience to gain valuable skills in customer service, retail operations, and furniture product knowledge. As a Desk Aide Junior, you will be the first point of contact for many of our customers, providing friendly assistance and guidance, ensuring a smooth and pleasant shopping experience. You’ll learn the ins and outs of our products and services, contribute to maintaining an organized and welcoming desk area, and play a crucial role in upholding IKEA’s commitment to customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet customers as they approach the information desk.
  • Provide basic information about store layout, product locations, and ongoing promotions.
  • Assist customers with general inquiries and direct them to appropriate departments or colleagues for specialized support.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized desk area, ensuring all necessary materials (maps, flyers, etc.) are readily available.
  • Learn and stay updated on IKEA products, services, and policies to effectively assist customers.
  • Help to resolve minor customer issues and escalate complex situations to senior staff.
  • Contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional verbal communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
  • A strong customer service mindset with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new information and procedures.
  • Basic computer literacy for looking up product information or store details.
