Job Description
As a Marketing Data Analyst with a focus on Consumer Insights at Netflix, you will play a crucial role in understanding our global audience and optimizing our marketing strategies. You will be responsible for analyzing vast datasets related to consumer behavior, campaign performance, and market trends to generate actionable insights. Your work will directly inform marketing decisions, helping us acquire new members, retain existing ones, and enhance the overall Netflix experience. This role requires a blend of strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of marketing principles, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives for various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust dashboards and reports to track key marketing performance indicators (KPIs) and consumer behavior trends.
- Conduct in-depth analyses of marketing campaigns, user acquisition funnels, and retention drivers to identify areas for improvement and growth.
- Utilize statistical methods and data modeling techniques to uncover consumer insights, segment audiences, and predict future trends.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and content teams to define analytical needs, provide data-driven recommendations, and measure the impact of initiatives.
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to stakeholders, fostering a data-informed decision-making culture.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity, working with engineering teams to improve data collection and infrastructure.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging analytical tools, and consumer trends to continuously innovate our approach.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar quantitative role, preferably within marketing or consumer insights.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) and creating compelling dashboards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated understanding of marketing concepts, campaign performance metrics, and consumer behavior.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex data stories to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Marketing Analytics, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
- Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python with Pandas/NumPy/SciPy).
- Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and experimental design.
- Experience in the entertainment or streaming industry.
- Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application in marketing analytics.
