Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented UPS Knowledge Graph Associate with a strong data focus to join our remote team. This role is pivotal in enhancing our data infrastructure by contributing to the development, maintenance, and optimization of UPS’s knowledge graphs. The successful candidate will play a critical role in transforming complex data into actionable insights, improving data discoverability, and enabling advanced analytics and AI applications across various business units. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a global enterprise from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain knowledge graphs to represent complex relationships within UPS's vast datasets.
- Perform data modeling, ontology development, and semantic annotation to structure unstructured and semi-structured data.
- Collaborate with data engineers and scientists to integrate various data sources into the knowledge graph platform.
- Develop and implement SPARQL queries and other graph traversal algorithms to extract insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity within the knowledge graph environment.
- Document knowledge graph structures, ontologies, and data flows for internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the research and evaluation of new semantic technologies and graph database solutions.
- Provide support and training to end-users on how to effectively utilize the knowledge graph for their analytical needs.
- Work cross-functionally to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for knowledge graph development.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, ArangoDB) and graph query languages (e.g., SPARQL, Gremlin, Cypher).
- Strong understanding of semantic web technologies (RDF, RDFS, OWL).
- Experience with data modeling, ontology design, and taxonomy development.
- Solid programming skills in Python (or similar) for data manipulation and automation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with machine learning techniques applied to knowledge graphs (e.g., link prediction, entity resolution).
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration tools.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain domain knowledge.
- Experience with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark).
