Job Description
Are you passionate about safety and looking to kickstart your career in the construction industry? Balfour Beatty is seeking a motivated and vigilant Site Marshall to join our team in Plymouth. This is an entry-level position perfect for individuals with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. As a Site Marshall, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our construction sites operate in accordance with health and safety regulations, guiding personnel, and contributing to a proactive safety culture. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training and support for your professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor site entry and exit points, ensuring only authorised personnel and vehicles gain access.
- Guide and direct site traffic, including deliveries and personnel, to maintain smooth and safe operations.
- Conduct regular site walks to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Assist in the enforcement of site rules and regulations, promoting safe working practices among all personnel.
- Report any safety breaches, incidents, or near-misses to the Site Supervisor immediately.
- Distribute and monitor the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on site.
- Support the Site Management team in maintaining an organised and safe working environment.
- Provide basic safety inductions to visitors and new sub-contractors when required.
- Assist with emergency response procedures as directed by site management.

Preferred Qualifications
- Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- First Aid at Work certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience in a role requiring attention to detail or adherence to procedures.
- A keen interest in the construction industry and safety practices.
