Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Associate with a keen interest in the startup fintech ecosystem to join our remote team. This role is ideal for an individual looking to grow their career in financial operations, analysis, and strategy within a fast-paced and innovative environment. You will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance as we continue to scale and introduce new products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily financial operations, including transaction monitoring, reconciliation, and payment processing.
- Support the preparation of financial reports, presentations, and analyses for internal stakeholders.
- Conduct research on market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes within the fintech space.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and legal teams to ensure financial compliance and operational efficiency for new features.
- Help manage vendor relationships and process invoices.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance financial control and reporting.
- Participate in ad-hoc financial projects and analyses as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a financial role, preferably within fintech or a fast-growing startup.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks).
- Understanding of financial regulations (e.g., KYC, AML) relevant to fintech.
- Proven ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Certifications like CFA Level I or working towards it.
