Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bilingual Nurse (Spanish/English) to join our dynamic team in Spokane. You will provide direct patient care, educate patients and families, and serve as a crucial linguistic and cultural bridge within our medical environment. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, with a focus on Spanish-speaking individuals.
- Fluently communicate medical information, treatment plans, and discharge instructions to Spanish-speaking patients and their families.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Document patient observations, interventions, and responses accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families on disease management, health promotion, and prevention strategies.
- Advocate for patient needs and cultural preferences to ensure patient-centered care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care coordination.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards.
Required Skills
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Washington.
- Native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Certification in a specialty area (e.g., Medical-Surgical, Critical Care).
- Experience working with diverse patient populations.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with medical interpretation or translation in a healthcare setting.
