Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Apple Documentation Clerk with an engineering focus to join our remote team. This is a crucial role supporting our engineering departments by ensuring all technical documentation related to Apple products, platforms, and services is accurately created, organized, maintained, and compliant with internal standards and client requirements. You will play a vital role in the documentation lifecycle, from drafting and editing to version control and distribution, enabling seamless knowledge sharing and project execution across our global teams. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and proofread technical documentation, including user manuals, design specifications, API documentation, and knowledge base articles, specifically for Apple technologies.
- Organize and maintain documentation repositories, ensuring easy access and proper version control using designated tools.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and technical leads to gather information and ensure accuracy and clarity of content.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to established style guides, terminology, and legal compliance standards.
- Assist in the development and improvement of documentation processes and templates.
- Support document distribution and publication workflows, including internal portals and client-facing platforms.
- Track documentation status, identify gaps, and proactively work to fill them.
- Provide administrative support related to documentation efforts as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably within a technology or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of documentation principles and best practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- Ability to learn new software and tools quickly.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Apple operating systems (macOS, iOS) and development ecosystems.
- Experience with technical writing tools or content management systems (CMS).
- Basic understanding of engineering concepts or software development lifecycles.
- Prior experience in a documentation-specific role.
- A degree or certification in English, Technical Communication, Information Science, or a related field.
