Job Description
Are you a budding developer passionate about mobile technology and eager to make an impact? Boots UK is looking for a Junior Flutter Developer to join our innovative digital team. In this hybrid role based in Beeston, Nottinghamshire, you will contribute to the development of engaging, high-performance cross-platform mobile applications that serve millions of Boots customers and internal teams across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational Flutter skills to grow their career, working alongside experienced developers on impactful projects in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain new features for cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter and Dart.
- Collaborate with senior developers, designers, and product managers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, performance, and adherence to best practices.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving bugs and performance issues.
- Write clear, concise, and well-documented code.
- Actively participate in agile team ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Flutter and Dart.
- Familiarity with state management solutions (e.g., Provider, Bloc, Riverpod).
- Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and design guidelines.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Basic knowledge of RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with native mobile development (iOS Swift/Objective-C or Android Kotlin/Java).
- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for mobile apps.
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks for Flutter.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
