Job Description
Walmart is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as a Cashier / Customer Service Assistant. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process customer transactions at the point of sale, including cash, credit/debit, and other payment methods.
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service, answering questions and resolving minor issues with a positive attitude.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area.
- Assist customers with bagging groceries and merchandise efficiently.
- Handle customer returns and exchanges in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Support store operations by assisting with merchandising, stocking, and other tasks as needed to ensure a well-maintained store.
- Promote store loyalty programs and inform customers about current special offers and promotions.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and loss prevention.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Friendly, positive, and customer-centric attitude.
- Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg) occasionally.
- Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to changing procedures.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in any customer-facing role (e.g., hospitality, food service).
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus, given our diverse customer base.
