Job Description
Are you looking for a rewarding part-time role with flexible weekend shifts? Tesco is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Supermarket Order Pickers to join our dedicated team in a local Liverpool suburb. As an Order Picker, you will be crucial in ensuring our online customers receive accurate and high-quality orders. Your responsibilities will include efficiently picking items from store shelves, checking product quality and expiry dates, and carefully packing orders for collection or delivery. This role is perfect for someone with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently pick customer orders from store shelves according to specified lists.
- Ensure all items picked match the order requirements, including correct product, quantity, and quality standards.
- Check for product expiry dates and ensure all perishable items are fresh and fit for delivery.
- Safely and carefully pack orders, ensuring fragile items are protected.
- Maintain a tidy and organised work area throughout your shift.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and store procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with in-store customers during the picking process.
- Assist with stock rotation and replenishment as needed.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Good physical stamina, capable of standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled weekend shifts.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Basic communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions clearly and precisely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail, warehouse, or order picking role.
- Familiarity with supermarket layouts and product categories.
- Experience using handheld scanning devices or similar technology.
