Job Description

RSM US LLP is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Government Spending Auditor. Key Responsibilities
- Participate in comprehensive paid training programs to understand government auditing standards, methodologies, and regulations.
- Assist senior auditors in conducting financial and compliance audits of government agencies and programs.
- Review and analyze financial records, transactions, and internal controls to identify discrepancies or non-compliance.
- Prepare working papers, schedules, and reports documenting audit findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with team members to gather evidence and support audit conclusions.
- Learn to interpret and apply relevant laws, policies, and procedures governing public sector entities.
- Develop an understanding of various government funding streams and expenditure categories.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding audit procedures and results.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree (or soon to be completed) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
