Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Think Tank Outreach Aide with a strong community engagement focus to join our team in Garden Grove. This entry-level role is crucial in supporting our mission to connect with local communities, amplify their voices, and ensure our research and policy initiatives are responsive to real-world needs. The successful candidate will assist in organizing community events, coordinating outreach efforts, managing communication channels, and gathering feedback to inform our strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of community outreach events, workshops, and meetings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, local organizations, and key stakeholders in the Garden Grove area.
- Support the dissemination of research findings and policy recommendations to community groups through various communication channels.
- Collect and synthesize feedback from community members to inform programmatic improvements and advocacy strategies.
- Manage and update community contact databases and outreach calendars.
- Prepare presentation materials, reports, and communication drafts for community engagement initiatives.
- Provide logistical support for internal and external meetings related to community engagement.
- Represent The California Endowment at local community gatherings and events as needed.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated passion for community engagement and social justice.
- Basic understanding of public policy or non-profit sector operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Sociology, Political Science, Public Health, or a related field.
- Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish or Vietnamese, highly desirable.
- Previous volunteer or internship experience in community organizing, outreach, or advocacy.
- Experience with CRM software or database management.
- Familiarity with the socio-economic and cultural landscape of Garden Grove and surrounding Orange County communities.
