Job Description

No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training to ensure you are fully equipped to succeed in this vital role. As a Non-Emergency Patient Transport Aide, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of patients throughout our facility, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and courteously transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to and from various hospital departments, including diagnostic areas, therapy, and patient rooms.
- Assist patients with transfers to and from transport equipment, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare staff regarding transport needs and estimated arrival times.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of transport equipment, including wheelchairs, stretchers, and oxygen tanks.
- Monitor patient condition during transport and report any changes or concerns to nursing staff immediately.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control, patient privacy (HIPAA), and safety regulations.
- Document transport activities accurately and efficiently.
- Respond promptly to transport requests and prioritize tasks based on patient needs and departmental requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the patient care team.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical ability to push, pull, lift, and maneuver patients and equipment.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (training can be provided).
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
