Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Frontend Shopify Designer with a strong focus on UX/UI to join our remote team. This is a 100% remote position. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing highly engaging and intuitive Shopify e-commerce experiences for our various brands and projects. Leveraging your expertise in both visual design and frontend development, you will ensure our online stores are not only beautiful but also performant, accessible, and conversion-focused. You will collaborate closely with product managers, backend developers, and marketing teams to bring cutting-edge e-commerce solutions to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging, user-friendly, and responsive Shopify themes and interfaces.
- Translate wireframes, mockups, and prototypes into high-quality code (HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, Liquid).
- Conduct UX research and analysis to identify user pain points and opportunities for improvement.
- Optimize website performance, load times, and mobile responsiveness.
- Ensure all designs and developments adhere to brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Perform thorough testing and debugging to ensure robust, bug-free implementations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify features, frontend technologies, and UX/UI trends.
- Manage version control using Git, ensuring clean and maintainable codebases.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with Shopify theme development and customization.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Solid understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
- Demonstrable experience in UX/UI design principles, wireframing, and prototyping.
- Familiarity with cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions.
- Experience with Git version control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Liquid templating language.
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices.
- Familiarity with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization (CRO) strategies.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Portfolio showcasing strong design and development skills for e-commerce platforms.
