Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Account Security Analyst to join our remote team. This is a crucial role focused on protecting Netflix member accounts from various security threats, including phishing, credential stuffing, and other forms of unauthorized access. You will be instrumental in identifying suspicious activities, investigating security incidents, and implementing preventative measures to safeguard our global member base. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within the specified region while collaborating with a distributed team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts and investigate suspicious account activity related to potential fraud, unauthorized access, and policy violations.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies indicative of security threats.
  • Perform deep-dive investigations into compromised accounts, determining root cause and scope of impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and customer service, to address security vulnerabilities and enhance protective measures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent account takeovers and mitigate risk.
  • Document security incidents, investigations, and remediation steps clearly and concisely.
  • Stay current with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices in account security.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of security tools, processes, and policies.

Required Skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and common attack vectors (e.g., phishing, malware, social engineering).
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets) and reporting.
  • Demonstrated passion for learning about information security.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Prior experience in a customer service or technical support role, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with SQL or other querying languages for data extraction and analysis.
  • Knowledge of common security frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+).
