Job Description

As a Patient Experience Assistant at Nuffield Health Woking Hospital, you will be the heart of our patient journey, ensuring every individual receives compassionate, efficient, and high-quality service from their first contact through to their post-treatment care. You will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment, assisting with non-clinical support, and coordinating patient needs to uphold our commitment to excellence in healthcare. This on-site role is essential for maintaining our high standards of patient satisfaction and operational efficiency within a fast-paced hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Provide clear and concise information regarding appointments, services, and hospital facilities.
  • Manage patient inquiries, concerns, and feedback, escalating complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Coordinate patient flow, ensuring timely arrival for appointments and smooth transitions between departments.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, record-keeping, and data entry, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Support clinical staff by ensuring patient comfort and readiness for procedures (e.g., confirming consent forms, explaining next steps).
  • Maintain a tidy and organised reception and waiting area, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Champion Nuffield Health's values, contributing to a culture of care, integrity, and excellence.

Required Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service or patient-facing role, preferably within healthcare.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology or healthcare administrative systems.
  • Basic first aid certification.
